The Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) in Borno has matriculated 333 students for 2021/2022 academic session.
Speaking at the ceremony on Friday in Biu, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kyari Mohammed said the new intake students were admitted into various programmes of the university.
He said that 333 out of the 392 admitted students had registered and being matriculated.

Mohammed tasked the new intake to be discipline, respect constituted authorities and abhor all forms of anti-social behavior such as violence Gender Based Violence (GBV), drug and substance abuse, cultism, examination malpractice and misconduct.
“We have zero tolerance for bad behaviour. Should you encounter any form of harassment from your lecturers or fellow students there are clearly laid down avenues for seeking redress, please utilise them. Do not suffer in silence.
“Let me assure you that we shall protect the innocent and punish the perpetrators of crime,” he said.
The vice chancellor who listed some of its recent achievements by the institution, said the institution participated in the 2022 Nigeria Universities Games (NUGA) where it won one gold and two bronze medals.
The university, he said occupied 31st position out of the 75 participating institutions, and the best in North-East.
He appreciated John Benjamin and Dorcas Chioma-Paul for making the university proud as well as other athletes and the coaching crew for a job well done.
“John Benjamin won gold medal in the 1,500 metres and bronze in 10,000 metres, while Dorcas Chioma-Paul won bronze in Taekwondo.
“As a show of our gratitude, and in order to encourage participation in sports, the university decided to offer both athletes full scholarship.
“We shall improve on our sporting facilities as we attract more sportsmen and women into our university,” he said. (NAN)
