President Muhammadu Buhari has been called upon by the Middle Belt United Assembly (MBUA) to apologise to Nigerians over persistent hardship and insecurity in the country.
The President is accused by the group of failing to fulfil his 2015 campaign promises.
The group recalled how promised Nigerians that he will secure them and improve their welfare if they vote for him in 2015, instead, the economy is in shambles while insecurity persists under his administration.
Addressing newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday, the group’s President, Comrade Moses Mwarga Aji, laments how Nigerians are going to bed with empty stomach as price of food stuff and other products in the market have doubled compared to what President Buhari inherited in 2015.
Aji further stated that even with much hunger in the land, Nigerians especially in the Northern region are in total fear of the unknown and cannot sleep with their two eyes close as insecurity ravages communities.
“We call on President Buhari to tender public apology to Nigerians over his failed promises on security, economy, fighting corruption. From bad in 2015 to worst now” he said
More so, Aji called on the international community to mount pressure on Buhari to secure the nation and ensure that elections are conducted in 2023.
