Zamfara State Commissioner for Hajji commission, Alhaji Sirajo Maikatako has resigned his appointment from the cabinet of Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle.
This is following the reconciliation between former governor Abdul Aziz Yari and Senator Kabiru Marafa factions of APC in the State.
Maikatako, who is a die hard loyalist of Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa tendered his resignation letter on Thursday, saying he was joining forces with the united All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State ahead of 2023 general elections.
“I am to announcing my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led State Government and I am also relinquishing my position as the state commissioner of Hajji commission.
“My decision of resigning is to show my appreciation and commitment to support my political mentor Senator Kabiru Marafa towards promoting peace and unity in our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I am, therefore, sending a message to the PDP led government in the state to avoid politics of bitterness and witch hunting members of the opposition party in the State.
“What I expect from PDP and other political parties in the State is for them to congratulate us as APC members on the recent reconciliation between former governor Abdul Aziz Yari and senator Kabiru Garbage Marafa. Politics should not be seen as a do or die affair,” he said.
“As from today, I am advising you that, you should not react to anybody who accuse Marafa or any chieftain of our great party on social media”
“We should continue to pray for the state APC leader, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari to succeed in his move to vie for the APC National Chairmanship position.
“We are, therefore, calling on Gov. Bello Matawalle to face the business of governance so as to provide meaningful projects for the people of the State,” he noted.
He expressed optimism that APC would reclaim the State in the 2023 general elections considering the reconciliation within its family.
