On Thursday, a terrorist attack killed a Customs officer at a joint security checkpoint near the 35 Battalion of the Nigerian Army along the Katsina-Jibia Road.

According to a source, over 40 armed motorcycle-riding terrorists attacked the checkpoint around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday.

The hoodlums believed to be from the camp of “Solar,” the recently killed terror kingpin, were said to have held sway for more than 30 minutes, killing the customs officer identified as Abu Abbo and fleeing with his rifle.

According to the source, the terrorists’ firepower was far superior to that of the security forces stationed at the checkpoint.

“I am certain that these terrorists were only here to test how best to enter the newly established Katsina Correctional Service building, which is directly across from the Katsina Army Barracks.”

Recall that just three days ago, terrorists killed a police inspector, Idris Musa, and set fire to his car near Makera Quarters, Kwakware Community on the Katsina-Jibia Road.
