Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has approved the appointment of the immediate past Commissioner of Police Jigawa State, CP Aliyu Saleh Tafida as his Special Adviser on Security Matters.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Secretary to the state government, Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse.

CP Saleh Tafida, a retired Commissioner of Police, served as Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command from August 2021 to September 2022.

The new appointee also served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operation zone 3 Yola, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration and finance Taraba State.

He also served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Plateau State Command, after which he was elevated to the substantive rank of Commissioner of Police and posted to Jigawa State Police command in August 2021.

The statement said the appointment is with immediate effect.
