Honourable Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada, Kano Gubernatorial Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), will attend a high-level security conference in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The 6th Conference of the Network of African Parliamentarians on Defense and Security Commission will be held in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, from October 5th to 7th.
According to Abbas Yushau Yusuf, Spokesperson for the ADP Gubernatorial Campaign Council, “the Kano gubernatorial candidate was chosen in his capacity as the Chairman of Nigeria’s House of Representatives Committee on Security and Intelligence, and he is expected to speak in the midst of African and European parliamentarians, representatives of international institutions, African and European experts.”
Yusuf stated that the annual conference is part of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation’s Security Policy Dialogue Program in Sub-Saharan Africa (SIPDI) history of meeting and collaborating with the Network of African Parliamentarians on Defense and Security Committees (REPAM-CDS).
“The following will be discussed throughout the three-day conference: “The Africa-Europe Security Dialogue in the Age of New Geopolitical Adversity: How to Improve Tangible Cooperation?”
“During the conference, experts and pundits on security problems will be joined by Honourable Sharada to address topics of interest.
“Academics and other professionals will also address a wide range of topics,” the Spokesman continued.
Following the beginning of the 9th parliament in 2019, the ADP Gubernatorial Candidate was appointed chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence.
Shaaban Sharada was elected President General of the Network of African Parliamentarians on defense and security committees during the 4th conference Network of African Parliamentarians on defense and security committees in the year 2020, following his inauguration as Chairman House committee on security and intelligence.
“Again, Sharada emerged as the President General of the network in all African countries during the network’s 5th convention, with his excellent performance.”
In his capacity as President General, Honourable Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada will deliver the keynote address at the current conference, which is the sixth, in the presence of 35 member countries and MPs from Europe and Africa.
President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo will also attend and declare open the conference of the Network of African Parliamentarians on Defense and Security Committees at the Full Man Hotel in Kinshasa, the country’s capital.
Following President Felix’s Declaration, the conference, led by the President General of the Network in Africa, Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada, will continue to deliberate and investigate the causes of the African continent’s security challenges with over 30 parliamentarians from various countries, in collaboration with security experts from the European Union, Africa, and academia.
