A 29-year-old man, Faleye Abiola, was docked in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing 15 wristwatches worth N15million and MacBook Laptop.

The police charged Abiola, whose address was not given with theft, breaking and entry and malicious damage.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Clément Okuoimose, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on October 8, at about 11 p.m, at Sanctuary Sail Harbour Resort, Ago-Ajo village, Epeme, Iworo area of Lagos.

Okuoimose said that the defendant allegedly broke into the house of Olurotimi Adewumi, the complainant.

He said that the defendant stole a box containing over 15 expensive wristwatches, one MacBook Laptop worth at N1.1mion, five cable wire phone chargers and an external hard drive ,among others.

He said that the defendant also damaged a glass door worth N15,000.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 309, 287 and 399 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Fadahunsi Adefioye, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N2m with two sureties in the like sum.

He said that one of the sureties must present a letter of employment and identity card with three years tax clearance.

Adefioye adjourned the case until Nov. 16, for mention.
