The gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Sen. Uba Sani has pledged to empower women, if elected in the upcoming general election.
Sani, who spoke during a town hall meeting at Kajuru on Wednesday, said that his administration would appoint more women into key positions as well as support their businesses and entrepreneurial development.
“Kaduna State is one of the most gender inclusive governments in the country,” Sani said, while reacting to a request by women for adequate representation in governance in the state.
He also promised to support security agencies in the war against banditry and crimes, adding that, ‘security is a collective responsibility and should not be left to the Federal Government alone.
“State and local government councils, the traditional institutions and the citizens should contribute their quotas”.
He commended Gov. Nasir El-Rufai for his support to the military and other security agencies, noting that peace is being restored owing to the onslaught on criminals’ hideouts.
The APC flag bearer also inaugurated a renovated primary healthcare center, nursing quarters and an ambulance to enhance access to quality healthcare service delivery in the area.
Speaking at the palace of Etsu Chukun, Sani promised to continue with town hall meetings and community engagement for effective policy formulation and implementation.
