Ibrahim  Bazamo, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Katsina, said necessary measures  were in place to prevent road crashes during the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations in the state.

Bazamo made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Katsina on Friday.

According to him, the sector has put all resources in place, both human and materials, to ensure that road crashes do not occur before, during and after the celebrations.

The sector commander said that the FRSC had five formations in the state – the State Sector Command in Katsina, the Unit Commands in Daura, Funtua, Malumfashi and Koza.

“We have roadside clinics in Koza and Malumfashi that assist accident victims when road crashes occur or happen,” Bazamo said.

“The command has organised public awareness programmes through electronic media, Mosques and Churches to raise safety consciousness among the motoring public in the state.
