Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, swore in 17 commissioners cleared by the state house of assembly on Monday.

DailyNews24 reports that Gov. Yusuf assigned all the new commissioners portfolios after the swearing-in, saying that they should get ready for the task ahead.

Although two of the commissioner nominees are yet to be screened by the assembly as they are presently undergoing Hajj,

The commissioners with their portfolios are: Comr. Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, Local Government; Haruna Umar Doguwa, Education; Hon. Ali Haruna Makoda, Water Resources; Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, Health; Engr. Marwan Ahmad, Works and Housing; Barr. Haruna Dederi, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General; Dr. Yusuf Kofar Mata, Higher Education; Hon. Nasiru Sule Garo, Environment; and Engr. Muhammad Diggol, Transportation.

Others are Dr. Danjuma Mahmoud, Agriculture, Musa Sulaiman Shanono, Budget and Planning, Abbas Sani Abbas, Commerce; Aisha Lawan Saji, Ministry of Women, Children, and Disabled (To be sworn after she returns from Hajj); Ladidi Ibrahim Abba, Tourism and Culture; Sheikh Tijjani Auwal, Religious Affairs (To be sworn after he returns from Hajj); Baba Halilu Dantiye, Information; Tajo Usman Ungogo Science and Technology; Hamza Safiyanu, Rural and Community Development; and Adamu Aliyu Kibiya Land and Physical Planning.
