The city of Kano came alive with vibrant colors, melodies, and artistic expressions as Telescope Magazine hosted the much-anticipated Creative Minds Arena.

Faiza Shehu, the host and convener, who spoke during the event shared the rational behind the event saying, “The creative minds arena was arranged to be a platform for all our creative minds, everything we are doing here is based on creativity, the theme is where food is also arts.”

The event featured various activities meant to cater for different creative industries. From a fashion exhibition to an arts exhibition, chef competition and live music performances, creativity took center stage throughout the day.

Faiza emphasized that the event aimed at harnessing the vast potential of the local creative industry, especially in Kano.

“The creative industry here in Kano is a very wide one, and there are some of them that are not well harnessed here in Kano, especially the visuals artists. Imagine we have very very talented artist around but they do not get a platform to showcase there art,” stating that “we decided to give them a platform.”

Mustapha Ahmad, a participant and painter who exhibited his paintings at the event, said, “I brought my paintings here to showcase my talent as a painter,” adding that he “got viewers from different part of Nigeria.”

Mustapha also highlighted the growing value of Northern Nigeria’s art industry, noting an increase in art purchases.

Expressing his gratitude, Mustapha praised the organizers saying, “The organizers of this event have done a great thing for us by inviting artists to this grand event. Art in Northern Nigeria needs collaborations like this.” he said.

Faiza Shehu called on the public to appreciate and embrace the local creative arts scene. “I will like to encourage the people of Kano to embrace more of the creative art and visual arts in town because we have alot of them around.” she stated.

The Creative Minds Arena provided a vibrant platform for artists to showcase their talents, foster connections, and cultivate collaborations. As Kano’s artistic community gains recognition, events like this continue to contribute to the growth and appreciation of the creative industry in Northern Nigeria.
