The Super Falcons of Nigeria thrashes Queensland Lions FC with an impressive 8-1 victory on Saturday July 15 in a friendly match.

Asisat Oshoala contributed with a brace, while Ifeoma Onumonu, Toni Payne, Halimat Ayinde, Rasheedat Ajibade, Uchenna Kanu, and Gift Monday also found the net.

The falcons will now head to their official camp base at Sofitel Hotels, Brisbane, in preparation for their opening match against Canada, the reigning Olympic champions, on July 21 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Super Falcons are set to participate in their 10th World Cup appearance, with Australia and Republic of Ireland also in their group.

The tournament, co-hosted by Australia and Canada, will take place from July 21 to August 21.
