Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently engaged in meeting with a delegation from the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) at the Presidential Villa.

Led by Olaniyi Yusuf, Chairman of the NESG Board of Directors, the meeting commenced promptly at 11:30 am.

The purpose of is to formally inform the Vice President about the upcoming 29th Nigerian Economic Summit, scheduled to take place on October 23-24, 2023, and and to extend an invitation for him to deliver the closing address at the Summit.

The meeting will also delve into potential areas of collaboration between the NESG, the Office of the Vice President, and the National Economic Council.

The aim is to identify strategic priorities and initiatives that align with the presidential vision.Established in 1996 by a consortium of private sector leaders, the NESG has successfully co-hosted three consecutive Nigerian Economic Summits in conjunction with the Federal Government.

Present at the meeting are key figures from the NESG, including ‘Laoye Jaiyeola, the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Tayo Aduloju, the Chief Operating Officer, and Kyari Bukar, a former Chairman of the board.

Other participants include Lumun Feese, Gloria Ekpo, Seun Ojo, Nsikan Essien, Aderigbigbe Sherriff, and Ife Falope.
