Four female students from the Zamfara State College of Arts and Science who were abducted by bandits along the Birnin Magaji-Kaura Namoda road about six months ago have petitioned the state government for their release.
This was revealed in a second video released by their kidnappers, in which the kidnapped victims complained that their kidnappers were threatening to marry them off if their parents or guardians did not pay the N12 million demanded as ransom to secure their release.
According to a video that has gone viral in Gusau, the state capital, the victims also complained that their kidnappers had only given their families one week to act.
“We are appealing to our, parents and guardians to as a matter of urgency meet up with the demands of the bandits because we are in trouble here with our abductors please look for money to secure our freedom.
“The past government of Bello Mohammed Matawalle could not secure our release, this is our sixth month plus in captivity. We are appealing to Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration to assist us in achieving our freedom.”
According to the DAILY POST, the victims were abducted in January 2023 while returning from a wedding ceremony along the Birnin Magaji-Kaura Namoda road in the state.
