Kano Pillars Football Club has officially welcomed Coach Abdullahi Maikaba as its new Technical Adviser for the upcoming football seasons.
Coach Maikaba has inked a two-year contract with the club, covering the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 football seasons.
Assisting him will be a team of skilled coaches, including Abubakar Abubakar (aka Senior) as Chief Coach, Ahmad Garba Yaro Yaro as Coach, Gambo Muhammad as Assistant Coach, and Auwalu Abbas as Goalkeeper Trainer.
In a ceremony held at his office, Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu AbdulSalam Gwarzo, unveiled the new Technical Adviser and urged him to revitalize the club’s former glory.
Congratulating Coach Maikaba, the Deputy Governor praised the appointment as timely, highlighting the coach’s extensive experience in football coaching across various clubs in the country.
The Deputy Governor reiterated the state government’s unwavering commitment to supporting the team morally and financially, ensuring they achieve their objectives.
He also assured that renovations would soon begin at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofar Mata, Kano.
Commending the club’s management and players for their hard work, which led to the club’s return to the Premier League, Comrade Aminu AbdulSalam Gwarzo expressed gratitude to the club’s supporters and the people of Kano State for their unyielding support and prayers, encouraging them to continue their unwavering backing.
Kano Pillars Chairman, Alhaji Babangida Umar Little, emphasized that Coach Abdullahi Maikaba’s appointment was based on merit, and the management is confident that he will lead the club to new heights.
Responding to the appointment, Coach Abdullahi Maikaba expressed his gratitude to the club’s management for their trust in him and promised to justify their confidence.
