The Kano state government has approved the sum of N2.6 billion to dualize the Government House roundabout as well as the Daula Hotel roundabout and adjoining roads in Nasarawa local government area of the state.

Daily News 24 reports that this was revealed in a post by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on his verified X account after the 13th meeting of the state’s Executive Council under his leadership.

Governor Yusuf added that the state government has also approved a sum of N153 million for water pipeline extension to Na’ibawa Eastern Bypass Layout and Unguwa-Uku Yan-Awaki communities.

According to him, the government also earmarked a sum of N319 million for a proposed water supply package tagged ‘Abba Kabir Yusuf 2024 Reach Out Water Supply Project Phase I.

He said the government set has set aside N387 million for “supply of water treatment chemicals for the month of November and December, 2023 and that of January, 2024.

Other projects approved by the state’s executive council were revealed as follows:

The Council has also approved the following important projects: 1. Reconstruction of Kura – Kubarachi – Madobi Road and the failed Kubarachi Bridge in Kura and Madobi Local Government Areas in the sum of 11,976,727,228.30 billion naira. 2.

Dualization of Government House Roundabout – Lodge Road – Race Course Road – Daula Hotel Roundabout in Nassarawa Local Government Area in the sum of 2,644,865,384.44 billion Naira.

3. Revalidation and continuation of contract for the completion of 5km dualized road in Ungogo Local Government Area in the sum of 1,315,754,324.22 billion naira.

4. Construction and renovation/completion works at the new site for Drug & Medical Consumables Supply Agency at Kwanar Kwankwaso in the sum of 409,378,439.96 million naira.

7. Procurement of 120,000 bags of 25kg rice for distribution across the 11,222 polling units in the state at the cost of 3,960,000,000.00 million naira.

8. Purchase of 30 trucks of 50kg parboiled rice from Messrs Al-Hamsad Rice Mill Limited in the sum of 1,188,000,000.00 billion naira.

9. Approval for variation and settlement of outstanding payment in respect of the completed project for the construction of Senate Chamber Building at the Yusuf Maitama Sule University Permanent Site in the sum of 387,127,277.84 million naira.

10. Approval granted for the revalidation, settlement of outstanding certificates and completion/construction of Magistrate Courts across Kano State in the sum of 586,340,577.73 million naira.

11. Approval for the revalidation and continuation of contract for the completion of 5km dualized road in Warawa Local Government in the sum of 47,696,605.36 million naira.

12. Approval for the construction of Jumaát Masjid for Rijiyar Gwangwan Community Jido along Maiduguri Road, Kano in the sum of 69,480,517.76 million naira.

13. Installation of all in-one solar powered streetlight at Ayagi Quarters in the sum of 63,334,700.00 million naira.

14. Rehabilitation of Madobi Bridge – Madobi – Yako Kafin Maiyaki Road and Yako – Kiru Road in the sum of 10,699,873,060.41 billion naira

15. General renovation works of all MDAs at the Audu Bako Secretariat Office Complex, Kano State in the sum of 853,157,462.42 million naira.
