Senator Abdul Ningi, representing Bauchi Central, has resumed his legislative duties in the upper chamber, following a three-month suspension over alleged budget padding claims.
Ningi, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was seen arriving at the National Assembly premises in Abuja on Tuesday, where he exchanged pleasantries with journalists and expressed gratitude for their well wishes during his absence.

When asked about his experience during the suspension, Ningi replied, “Very much,” indicating that he had enjoyed his time away from the Senate.
His suspension was a result of controversial statements he made in an interview, alleging discrepancies in the 2024 budget, claiming that the National Assembly approved N25tn while the Presidency implemented N28.7tn.
With his return, Senator Ningi is expected to resume his legislative duties and contribute to the ongoing sessions in the upper chamber.
