Reality TV star and chef, Uriel Oputa, best known from Big Brother Naija, has spoken out against critics questioning her single status, asserting that marriage is not for everyone.

Uriel, who is also an entrepreneur, addressed the issue on her Instagram handle @urielmusicstar, emphasizing that she does not consider marriage an achievement and feels no pressure from her family or the public.

In her Instagram post, Uriel stated, “Marriage isn’t for everyone. If you think marriage is an achievement, that’s on you. How do you know I’m not married? Do you think everyone needs validation from social media?”

Uriel made it clear that she does not seek social media validation regarding her marital status. She firmly stated that she would never post about her partner or relationship status on social media, underscoring her privacy preferences.

“I would never post my marriage or my partner’s full face here. Age-shaming and marriage-shaming is so 2018. Let’s maintain this energy and save the lives of young men and women,” she wrote.

Uriel also addressed online trolls and social media bullies, asserting her resilience against such behavior. “Bullying doesn’t work with me. I went to an all-white school and I was the blackest kid that ever liveth,” she said, highlighting her ability to withstand bullying.

Having gained fame after her appearance on Big Brother Naija season 2 in 2017, Uriel has since built a successful career across various fields, maintaining a strong presence as a social media influencer.
