Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the National Leader and 2023 Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government of attempting to create a new wave of Boko Haram terrorists in Northern Nigeria.

Kwankwaso made these allegations in response to the situation in Kano, where federal security agencies have been supporting the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.

Speaking at a ceremony to inaugurate the construction of an 82-kilometre rural road network in his hometown of Madobi, Senator Kwankwaso vowed that the people of Kano would resist any effort to undermine state authority.

“We have mass followership because people believe in us,” Kwankwaso stated. “We are pro-people, and the NNPP administration is determined to serve them wherever they voted for us.”

Kwankwaso emphasized that as politicians, they would not stand by while enemies of the state attempt to disrupt the peace and co-existence of Kano. He expressed confidence in the governor’s focus and determination to achieve his goals despite these challenges.

The former Kano State Governor also criticized certain individuals from Kano, describing them as mentally ill and accusing them of advising the Federal Government to impose a State of Emergency in Kano. “This is madness of the highest order that the good, peace-loving, and committed people of Kano will resist,” he said.

As the 2027 elections approach, Kwankwaso warned against desperate politicians who aim to create disruption. He asserted that they are ready to fight back against any political victimization. “We are not afraid to be out of power because we will remain politicians in or out of government,” Kwankwaso declared.

He further accused the Federal Government of listening to unpatriotic politicians from Kano, which he believes will contribute to its failure. He assured that the people of Kano would resist any attempt to undermine the governor’s constitutional authority.

“We are open to dialogue, truce, and reconciliation, but we will not accept intimidation and political harassment of any sort. We know how to play politics, and we have all it takes to protect ourselves from any evil,” Kwankwaso warned.
