Napoli is contemplating lowering the asking price for their star striker, Victor Osimhen, due to the absence of formal offers from major clubs.

Despite being the top scorer and leading them to a Scudetto in the 2022/23 season, no bids have materialized for the Nigerian forward.

The current release clause in Osimhen’s contract, valid until 2026, ranges from €120 million to €130 million.

Initially reduced to €100 million, the price drop has not attracted interest from expected suitors like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is awaiting advice from sporting director Giovanni Manna and Osimhen’s agents before making a decision.

With new coach Antonio Conte at the helm, Napoli may need funds from Osimhen’s sale to pursue other transfer targets, including Romelu Lukaku. Additionally, Osimhen’s annual €10 million wages strain Napoli’s finances, prompting further adjustments in their transfer strategy.

Reports suggest a potential player-swap deal with Manchester United involving Mason Greenwood, who had a successful loan stint at Getafe and is linked with multiple clubs. To facilitate Osimhen’s transfer, Napoli might need to further reduce their expectations.
