The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun Area 1 Command has reiterated its commitment to continue to employ advanced techniques and technologies in combating smuggling and other economic sabotage across the country’s borders.
The command’s Comptroller of Customs, Mr James Ojo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Ota, Ogun.
Ojo said that the employment of more advanced techniques and technologies would help to fight the powerful, who sought to undermine the economy and compromise our national security.

“We can create a more secure and prosperous environment for our state and Nigeria-at-large through intelligence-driven approach in curbing activities of smugglers and other economic crimes at the borders,” he said.
The comptroller called on other security agencies to continue to share intelligence and leverage on their collective strengths to combat smuggling and enhance national security.
Ojo said that the customs would continue to take significant strides in ensuring safety and security of the nation’s borders to prevent illicit goods from coming into the country.
