Three domestic employeesโthe house help, a security guard, and a driverโwere arrested in connection with the murder.
A police source, who requested anonymity as they were not authorized to speak on the matter, revealed that the house help confessed to the crime during interrogation. The source clarified that Aribemchukwu was murdered inside her room and her body was subsequently dragged outside the gate to make it appear as if she had been killed there.
โThe deceased was killed in her room and her body was dragged to the front of the gate to make it look like she was killed on the spot. After that, all the blood stains were carefully cleaned but still, they missed some spots. They did not clean it well because it happened at night,โ the police source said.
The source added that the house help did not deny her involvement, saying, “We do am, na we do am,” during interrogation. The statement matched the evidence found at the scene. After the murder, the suspects reportedly packed all the valuables of the deceased. It was also confirmed that the three domestic workers had been employed just a week before the incident.
Until her death, Aribemchukwu was a doctor and had recently married. When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that investigations were still ongoing. โWe will provide updates as soon as there are more developments,โ he said.
