In a dramatic display of international appeal, protesters in Kano State, Nigeria, have been marching through the streets waving Russian flags and calling for intervention from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The unusual demonstration, which began on Thursday, August 1, marks a striking escalation in the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria movement.

The protestors, driven by mounting frustration over persistent economic hardships, are demanding immediate action to address severe issues such as food inflation, general inflation, and soaring living costs.

Their choice to display the Russian flag underscores a deep dissatisfaction with the Nigerian governmentโ€™s response to the economic crisis, which has exacerbated hunger and hardship across the country.

The demonstration, which saw a significant turnout in Kano, reflects widespread discontent with the leadership of President Bola Tinubu. As the economic situation continues to deteriorate, many Nigerians feel their grievances are being ignored by their own leaders.

In an unprecedented move, the protestors have turned to Russiaโ€™s President Putin, seeking external intervention as a desperate measure to alleviate their suffering.

This unusual plea highlights the extent of the crisis and the level of frustration among Nigerian citizens, who are increasingly questioning the effectiveness of their governmentโ€™s policies.
