Bayeroโ€™s journey comes approximately three months after his return to the state and the Nassarawa mini palace. Sources close to the Emirate indicated that the trip was either a private visit or related to his attendance at a traditional leaders’ meeting in Abuja.

Bayero traveled in a convoy to Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) for his departure. Heavy security remains in place around the Nassarawa mini palace, where Bayero has been residing.

In a related development, the 16th Emir, Sanusi II, is currently abroad defending his PhD thesis, leaving Kano without an active Emir. The Emirship dispute is still under judicial review as efforts continue to resolve the conflict.
