The esteemed monarch, His Royal Highness Alhaji Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya, the Emir of Ningi in Bauchi State, has passed away.

He died early Sunday morning in Kano, where he had been receiving medical treatment for health issues associated with old age.

The sad news of the Emirโ€™s passing was announced by the Secretary of the Emirate, Alhaji Usman Sule, Magayakin Ningi, in a brief statement written in Arabic and Hausa.

The statement read: โ€œInnalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un (We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return). God bless His Majesty the King of Ningi, Dr. Yunusa Muhammadu Dan Yaya (OON), who passed away this morning, Sunday, in Kano.”

The late Emir is set to be laid to rest on Sunday evening. His funeral prayer will be held at 4 p.m. at the Emir’s Palace in Ningi.
