Mazi Afam Osigwe has been officially sworn in as the President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), marking the beginning of his term as the 32nd head of the association.

In his inaugural speech, Osigwe laid out a comprehensive agenda, underscoring his commitment to holding governments at all levels accountable for their actions. His focus will be on key areas such as justice, equity, and the rule of law.

Osigwe emphasized the indispensable role that the legal profession plays in shaping and maintaining a just society. The newly elected NBA President expressed his dedication to fostering an environment where the welfare and professional development of lawyers are prioritized. He assured that his administration would work tirelessly to align the NBAโ€™s initiatives with the broader needs and aspirations of the Nigerian populace.

โ€œWe will do our utmost best to ensure that we fulfil our promises to engender an NBA that places lawyers at the centre of its programmes,โ€ Osigwe stated.
