President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja for Beijing, China, on Thursday, August 29, for an official visit.

According to a statement from his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the president will make a short stopover in the United Arab Emirates before arriving in China.
โIn China, the President will meet with President Xi Jinping and will hold meetings with Chinese business leaders on the sidelines of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation,โ Ngelale stated.
The statement also mentioned that President Tinubu will be accompanied by senior government officials during the trip.
Gov. Yusuf visits damaged sites in Kano
Earlier, Daily News 24 reported how Governor Abba Yusuf conducted an on-the-spot visit to inspect the damage caused by hoodlums who hijacked the hunger protest.
The Governor, accompanied by his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, made the visit to evaluate the extent of the destruction.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Yusuf on Social Media, Salisu Yahaya Hotoro, shared details of the visit on his Facebook page, stating, โGovernor Abba Yusuf of Kano State in company of his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo have carried out on the spot visit to ascertain level of destructions carried out by hoodlums under disguise of the protest.โ
Among the affected sites were the yet-to-be-commissioned Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) Kano office and several government facilities located in front of the government house along State Road
The protest, which began peacefully at the front of the Kano State government house, escalated into violence, leading to the destruction and looting of both public and private properties.
In response to the chaos, Governor Yusuf imposed a 24-hour curfew with immediate effect to restore order in the state.
