Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) Nigeria has announced the appointment of Bayo Ajayi as its new CEO, following approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Emrie Brown, CEO of RMB and Chairman of the RMB Nigeria Board, stated, โ€œOn behalf of the RMB Nigeria Board of Directors, I am pleased to officially welcome Bayo Ajayi as the CEO. He has a seasoned track record in banking, and I am confident in his ability to partner with clients while contributing to Nigeriaโ€™s growth.โ€

In response to his appointment, Ajayi remarked, โ€œThe opportunity to take up this role at such a critical time for RMB Nigeria is a humbling one. The team and I will work closely with our clients, who continue to demonstrate resilience. We are optimistic about driving economic development and sustainability together.โ€

Ajayi, who brings extensive experience to his new role, previously served as an Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer at RMB Nigeria. With a 25-year career in leadership roles across Nigeria and Africaโ€™s banking sector, Ajayi has a proven track record of delivering results. The Board is confident in his ability to advance the bankโ€™s strategic goals.

Ajayi holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University and has completed several senior management courses internationally. He is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK.
