Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, made the announcement following a Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu.
“The President finds it difficult that judges and justices will be living in rented houses and hotels, that is not safe for our judicial officials, not convenient for them to do their work,” Wike quoted President Tinubu.
The 40 houses will be built in the Kantampe District, with 20 allocated to the FCT High Court, 10 to the Federal High Court, and 10 to the Court of Appeal. Completion is expected within 15 months.
Additionally, the Federal Executive Council approved infrastructure developments, including access roads and internal road networks, to enhance accessibility to the judicial quarters.
This project is part of a broader infrastructure push in the FCT, aiming to develop over 75 kilometers of roads in satellite towns by December.
