The Kebbi state branch chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Comrade Alhaji Aliyu Haliru Bunza has joined the league of sympathizers of the victims and families who lost loved ones over the warra boat mishap that claimed at least 150 lives recently.
Speaking on behalf of Kebbi youth in Birnin Kebbi, Bunza described the mishap unfortunate and heartbreaking.
“We received with rude schock the news of boat mishap which had shaken the very foundation of all concerned lives, we hereby extend our deepest condolence to Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, good people of Kebbi state and the federal government, we pray to Allah to give the families fortitude to bear the lost.
Comrade Bunza urged the federal government and the state to work together to ensure the safety of potential boat messengers by taken dractics measures to curtail the repeat of such.
He explained that its the responsibility of government to provide life jackets to all passengers willing to cross the river Niger.
He called on the beareaved families to get over it and move on with their lives and should see what happened as an act of God.
He urged youth to remain law abiding and to ensure the unity of our country which is sacrosanct, adding that nobody will be allowed no matter his placement in the society to push the country to disintegration because of his and/or their selfish interest.
“We at the NYCN do not subscribe to the idea of secession but we will stand for a holistic constitution review particularly one that will carry the youth along”, he said.
