The Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has warned that infrastructural development and social recreational improvement could be worthless if the security of the people remains fragile.

The Emir said there was a need for collective prayers amongst Nigerians, to confront the challenges of banditry, kidnapping, and other vices bedeviling the country.

He insisted that “without peaceful co-existence, there will be no positive improvement, hence the need for all citizens to give peace a chance and see everyone as brothers”.

The Emir said this on Thursday during the visit of the Minister of State for transport Senator Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki who paid a courtesy call at the palace, while in Kano for the official commissioning of a project.

The Emir said, the establishment of projects in Kano will go a long way in providing job opportunities for youths, who are roaming the streets.

NITT Kano Outreach Centre: Great opportunity to explore, address unemployment rate

Minister Of State for Transportation Senator Gbemisola Rukayya Saraki has stated that the aim of establishing the Kano Outreach learning centre of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology is in line with the Ministry’s pursuit of policies and programmes that are beneficial to the Nigerian transport sector.

She made the statement on Thursday during the commissioning of the NITT Kano Outreach centre at Dawakin Kudu, adding that it is a demonstration of their commitment to remain in the forefront of developing and executing transportation infrastructures, to ensure equitable distribution of opportunity for social and economic development in the country.

According to the Minister…the commissioning of the project will assist the institute in realizing one of the dreams of Kano and Jigawa States which is to bring its programmes and services close to the transport and logistic stakeholders with the aim of tackling the perceived transport knowledge gap in each state among other things.
