Senator Suleiman Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, representing Kano South, has taken a significant step in uplifting his constituency by donating over 3,000 school chairs and tables, 1,000 hospital beds, mattresses, and multipurpose marker boards.

Daily News 24 reports that the large-scale empowerment event, held at Tokarawa Quarters in Kano State on October 20, 2024, reflects his commitment to addressing critical shortages in the education and healthcare sectors within Kano South.

The donations, which form part of Senator Sumaila’s constituency initiatives, aim to enhance both educational facilities and healthcare services in the region. “These contributions are intended to create a better learning environment for students and improve medical care for patients across Kano South,” Senator Sumaila stated.

He emphasized that this is just the beginning of his efforts to transform key sectors within his senatorial district. “As a representative, it is my duty to ensure that our schools and hospitals have the resources they need. I encourage all beneficiaries to use these materials effectively for the greater good of the community.”

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who was present at the event, commended the senator’s philanthropic efforts, noting that such contributions are crucial to the state’s overall development. “This generous donation is expected to improve both education and healthcare services, especially for pregnant women and students in the region,” the governor said, adding that the hospital beds and other medical equipment will significantly reduce maternal mortality rates across Kano State.

Senator Kawu Sumaila has also provided scholarships for over 600 science students, with the aim of supporting their education and future contributions to the healthcare sector.
