The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State has introduced a five-point agenda aimed at rebuilding the party’s reputation and reestablishing its influence across the state.
The newly elected state chairman, Yusuf Ado Kibiya, announced the plan during a press briefing on Monday, detailing initiatives focused on reinforcing democratic principles, selecting credible leaders, and addressing key state challenges.

โWe will strengthen the democratic framework within our party to ensure fair and transparent elections where every voice is heard and every vote counts,โ Kibiya stated, emphasizing the PDPโs commitment to inclusive and fair practices. He further explained that the party will prioritize selecting leaders known for their integrity and dedication to public service.
As part of a strategic development plan, Kibiya shared that the PDP intends to engage professionals from various sectors to collaborate on a 10-year development program for Kano.
โThis initiative, developed with input from Kano residents, will be central to the partyโs agenda,โ he added, noting that all candidates, including gubernatorial aspirants, will be expected to commit to the plan if elected, ensuring it aligns with the needs and aspirations of Kano’s citizens.
Kibiya highlighted the partyโs focus on tackling critical state issues, stating, โWe will provide a platform to discuss the challenges facing Kano, including leadership crises, institutional relationships, and pressing social, educational, religious, and economic issues.โ
The PDPโs five-point agenda represents a significant move to restore public trust and position the party as a proactive force for change in Kano State.
