In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Ibraheem Musa, the governor’s decision reflects a dedication to “the advancement of the interests of workers and improvement in the living conditions of the poor, vulnerable, and underserved in Kaduna State.”

The statement emphasized that this initiative aligns with Governor Uba Sani’s lifelong mission to promote and protect workers’ rights.

Furthermore, the governor is set to launch a Free Transportation Scheme for civil servants, which will include the introduction of 100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses. “The buses will convey civil servants to and from work. This is aimed at alleviating the suffering of workers and enhancing their productivity,” the statement noted.

To oversee the Free Transportation Scheme, a Joint Management Committee will be established, consisting of representatives from organized labor, including the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), along with state government officials.

Governor Uba Sani reaffirmed his commitment to implementing policies that support the less privileged in the state. “The Kaduna State Government will continue to fashion and implement policies and measures to bring succor to the people.

We are committed to transforming the lives of the less privileged. With the sustained support of our citizens, we shall make Kaduna State a model for social welfare interventions,” he stated.
