Researchers and Academicians under the aegis of Academic and Researchers Network Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria have floated a new movement to confront the challenges bordering on lack of adequate nutrition expertise in Kano.

The network which was formally inaugurated last Friday at Babale Suites, Nssarawa GRA Kano sought to engage scientific communities to support Scaling Up Nutrition family., Secretary-General of the group, Dr. Saisu Abubakar has said.

He said the new group has as part of its mandate to help expand nutrition interventions through efficacy.

According to him, the body will pursue tertiary institutions to conduct research on nutrition, adding that the body will also pursue research, education, and scholarship in the areas of nutrition.

Abubakar further disclosed that the network will create a community of nutrition scientists, academics and professionals, that will help facilitate the development network.

According to him, the network will further help to address key knowledge gaps and to play a prominent role in developing stronger partnerships.
