Bayer Leverkusen has launched an investigation into a now-deleted video reportedly showing striker Victor Boniface driving at high speed while using his mobile phone.
The incident comes just weeks after Boniface survived a serious crash that left his car wrecked and resulted in injuries.

The video, which surfaced online, appears to show Boniface behind the wheel of his Mercedes-AMG car on the A4 highway, accompanied by two passengers.
In the 50-second clip, he can be seen holding his phone, scrolling, and singing along to music by Swagbag while allegedly exceeding the 120km/h speed limit. His speedometer reportedly displayed 141km/h.
Leverkusen confirmed they are investigating the footage and have expressed concern about the potential risks involved. A club spokesperson stated, โWe are looking at the matter and checking it. If the incident is confirmed, we will of course talk to Victor about it as soon as possible. He not only has a role model function – it is fundamentally about not endangering himself or other people in road traffic.โ
The investigation follows Bonifaceโs earlier involvement in a 120mph crash on October 20, where he was a passenger in his Mercedes luxury vehicle. The car collided with a lorry after the driver lost control, reportedly due to fatigue. The accident left Boniface with hand injuries and caused damages estimated at ยฃ167,000.
Boniface was fortunate to escape with minor injuries, but his car was completely destroyed in the crash. Despite this, the recent video has raised concerns over his driving behavior and adherence to road safety regulations.
Leverkusen has yet to confirm any disciplinary action, but the incident could result in fines or points on Bonifaceโs driving licence.
