The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Salman Dogo Garba, confirmed on Monday night that police had made several arrests in connection with the killing of two people following the football match between Kano Pillars and Katsina United at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano, on Sunday.
In a phone conversation, Garba assured the public that more arrests were imminent, emphasizing that all those involved in the violent acts would face prosecution.

“As I speak to you, we are writing a report on it. Many people have been arrested, and we are moving all out to ensure the arrest and prosecution of all the hoodlums involved,” Garba said.
According to reports, over 100 violent youths stormed several communities, including Zango, Kofar Mata, Yakasai, and Rimi, looting shops and residential houses. During a clash between rival gangs, two people were killed, leaving residents and business owners in shock and counting their losses.
The police have vowed to continue their efforts to restore order and ensure the culprits are brought to justice.
