Two policemen were killed and over 200 cows rustled during a terrorist attack on Natseni village in Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The attack occurred amid Nigeria’s military claims of degrading and pushing back terrorist activities in the region.

The armed group, riding on motorcycles and heavily armed, stormed the farm of one Lawali, where the policemen attempted to repel the attack. However, the officers were overpowered and fatally shot, while the assailants made away with the stolen cattle.

Kebbi Police Command spokesperson, SP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the incident. He stated that the Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, had visited the Emir of Argungu to offer condolences after conducting an on-the-spot assessment of the situation.

“A combined team of security forces is currently on the trail of the terrorists with the aim of apprehending them,” Abubakar said.

The commissioner also extended condolences to the families of the slain police officers, acknowledging their sacrifice in the line of duty.
