Smile Train, an international charity in collaboration with National Surgical, Obstetrics, Anaesthesia and Nursing Plan For Nigeria has organized a four-day intensive training for medical personnel in basic and advance life support in Kano north west geo-political zone of Nigeria.
The training is targeted mostly at doctors involve in children’s healthcare, including Anaesthesia, pediatrician, paediatric surgery and others like maxillofacial surgery and plastic surgery.

says the training is critical because cardiac arrest is a major kill in our society today can happen any were most especially at home.
“we need to develop the capacity to know how this thing can be address, 24 doctors will be train for the purpose of this program and the trainers will not provide services to the people only but will also provide training when they go back to their various destination.” He said.
Some of the participants say they are happy to be part of the training that it is an additional, knowledge for them and promise to extend the same to their colleagues when they go back to their states.
The program will empower one hundred and fourth- four doctors in the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria to be train not only to be able to provide both basic and advance life support ,but also become trainers in their various zone.
The public need to know that cardiac arrest is major killer in the society and if appropriate measures are not taking to rescue the victim within four minutes life will be lost.
The experts are optimistic that if many have the capacity to know what to do a lot of lives will be saved.
Headquartered in New York City and founded in 1999, Smile Train provides free corrective cleft surgery in 87 countries, training local doctors and providing hospital funding for the procedures.
According to Forbes magazine writing in 2014, Smile Train was the 72nd largest charity in America.
