The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement Northwest zone, Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, has distributed palliatives to community members in Kano State to help ease the impact of the country’s economic challenges.
The distribution took place during an event titled Citizens’ Engagement: Basic Education Empowerment Program, which was held on Monday. The event gathered coordinators and secretaries of the Northern Young Professionals for Tinubu (NYPT) from all 44 local government areas of Kano.

Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai explained that the empowerment initiative was meant to express gratitude to the NYPT coordinators and secretaries, while also offering palliative support during these challenging economic times.
“We feel it is necessary at this time, when the country is facing economic hardship that is evident all around the world, to come and provide empowerment for our teeming members in the community.”
Yakasai reiterated the need for feedback structures in all 44 local governments, which will serve as a means to relay the concerns of communities to President Tinubu. “I am setting up a structure in the 44 local governments and will be providing feedback to the President on the happenings in the communities,” he said.
At the event, 200 cartons of macaroni, 50 generators, and N10,000 were distributed to NYPT members. Additionally, coordinators and secretaries of NYPT received letters of appreciation and new appointment letters.
Musa Adamu Sa’idu, a beneficiary of the intervention conveyed his heartfelt gratitude for the assistance, saying, “In the midst of this severe economic hardship, I am incredibly thankful for this support. It will make a significant difference for my family. My children will be overjoyed by this intervention.”
