At least 12 persons, including ten women, have reportedly been abducted when bandits attacked Kerawa village in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State in the wee hours of Friday.

A youth leader in the community, Jamil Kerawa, confirmed the incident, saying the bandits operated unchallenged,

“They abducted 12 people, two male and ten women, after killing one person. One other was injured and rushed to hospital in Zaria. We need help in Kerawa because only God is protecting us,” he said.

He appealed to the State Government to deploy security personnel in the area, lamenting the increase in attacks.

Another resident identified as Jafaru said his biological brother and uncle’s son were abducted.

He said the whole community was in confusion.

No official reaction from the state government and Police, but the spokesman of the State Police Command has promised to comment after getting details.
