The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Kano State Branch has elected new Executive Council during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) that was held at the American Space, Murtala Muhammad Library Complex Kano on Saturday 29th May, 2021.
According to a statement signed by the Association’s Public Relations Officer (English) Aliyyu Muhammad and Mazhun Idris, the Secretary says the Election was presided over by former National Treasurer of the Association Dr. Maryam Ali Ali.

The Association of Nigerian Authors ANA) represents Nigerian creative writers at home and abroad. It was founded in 1981 with the novelist Chinua Achebe as its president. The immediate past President is Alhaji Denja Abdullahi.
The Association has sponsored some of the following prizes in 2004;
- ANA/ATIKU ABUBAKAR Prize for Children Literature — Sola Alamutu and Dawodu Peju: Cate Saves the Ikopi Rainforest (winner); Lawal–Solarin, Tunde: Lanre and the Queen of the Stream; Olajire Olanlokun: Children Poetry for Pleasure.
