The governor of Yobe State and national chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, CECPC, Mai Mala Buni, has approved a template to accommodate aggrieved members of the party in Kano.

In a 4-page letter forwarded to the two factions led the state governor Abdullahi Ganduje and the senator representing Kano Central, Ibrahim Shekarau, the party appointed the governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, former speaker of the House of Reps Yakubu Dogara and Senator Abba Ali to supervise the harmonisation of the party structures and consensus.

According to the harmonisation template, “a bottom-top caucus” will be constituted at each of the 44 local government areas of the state.

The Harmonization Letter Preamble Reads;

Whereas, the Party’s Congresses in Kano State resulted in deep schisms within the Kano State APC family, consequent upon which, a parallel
Congress was held by aggrieved members of the party under the Leadership of Sardaunan Kano, H.E. (Mal) Ibrahim Shekarau.

The matter was further compounded by a Court judgement which conferred validity on the Congresses held by HE. (Mal) Shekarau’s group and by implication, recognizing the Executives the Congresses produced as the lawfully elected party Executives for Kano State.

The Governor’s side has since appealed against the judgement of the lower Court and the matter is pending before the Court of Appeal which is expected to deliver its judgement sooner than later.

Given the above tenuous situation of the party in Kano State, the party under the able leadership of the National Chairman CECPC, HE. (Hon)
Mai Mala Buni, decided to wade in, to restore sanity and bring back unity of purpose and re-enact the eroded trust among the APC, Kano
State family.

With the support of capable and tasted hands, the
Reconciliation Committee headed by Gov. Mai Mala Buni sat with leading lights of the two sides and painstakingly examined all issues raised which bothered mainly on exclusion.
