The defection took place in Tofa and Ghari Local Government Areas, where the former APC members officially joined the NNPP.

Dr. Hashimu Suleiman Dungurawa, the state chairman of the NNPP, welcomed the defectors during ceremonies held in both locations. The events also featured the flag-off of the NNPP’s chairmanship campaign ahead of the upcoming local government elections.

Yakubu Ibrahim Adis, the NNPP candidate for Tofa, and Hashimu Mai Sabulu, the party’s candidate for Ghari, attended the ceremonies.

Both candidates voiced confidence in the NNPP’s growing strength in the region, especially with the influx of new members.
