The Chairman had previously postponed the scheduled rally due to logistical issues.
Akinsanya announced in a statement signed by him and posted on his Twitter account that the proposed five-million-man walk will be held to support the re-election bids of Lagos State Governor Bababjide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
“Tinubu-Shettima and second term of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat solidarity walk continues on Sunday,” the statement said.
“This is to inform our esteemed members, supporters, and lovers that our solidarity walk for Tinubu-Presidential Shettima’s ambition and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu/second Hamzat’s term will continue as planned.”
“We kindly ask that you disregard the previous postponement notice.” As follows is the schedule: The date is October 9, 2022. Teslim Balogun Stadium will serve as the starting point. Bolade Oshodi is the endpoint. 9:00 a.m. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you very much.”
He explained the earlier postponement in another statement issued on Friday.
“This will be a mega rally; we will shut down Lagos for Asiwaju Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu.”
“We initially postponed the rally due to some logistics and situations that were supposed to be put into proper perspective, which we have sorted out.”
“The rally has been blessed by APC chieftains and stakeholders, and we are ready to roar.” Maximum security is ensured.
“We want to demonstrate our strength, capacity, and support for APC candidates because they are the best for the job at hand.”
“I hereby, urge all ‘BATists’ (Tinubu supporters) and Sanwo-Olu supporters to come out in large numbers to tell the world that Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu are the best candidates for the state’s presidency and governorship seats in the 2023 general elections,” the statement said.
