The All Progressive Congress (APCw women wing in Sokoto State on Saturday commenced door-to-door campaign to mobilise support for the party’s candidates ahead of the 2023 general polls.
The group, under the auspices of ‘SAAR-MATA Foundation had earlier unveiled some campaign materials for the exercise that include textiles, branded T-shirts and veils, among others.
Speaking, the convener of the group, Mrs Sa’adatu Muhammad, said the aim was to intimate women on voting for the right candidate for the best future of Sokoto State and Nigeria.
“We are all out to inspire women’s participation in politics not only in Sokoto State, but the country in general.
“Our target is to ensure the best future for women and the younger generation. Therefore, we will continue to mobilise our women to make the right choice for the best for Nigeria,“ she said.
Muhammad further said that the foundation had set up the required mechanism toward making APC more stronger and acceptable in the State ahead and beyond the 2023 elections.
In her remarks, Hajiya Hajara Dingyadi, the wife of Police Affairs Minister, urged the APC women to rally more support for the party
“We should sustain more awareness for the electorate to reason with us in our desire toward choosing the best Nigeria for our children.
“Therefore, we should continue to give more close marking to ensure that those people planning to rob the best future of our country do not succeed,“ she said.
Also speaking, Hajiya Fatima Aliyu, the wife of Sokoto APC governorship candidate appreciated the women group for the initiative.
Aliyu stressed the need for women traders to actively participate by emulating those who had excelled in various positions of authorities.
“This is the right time we appreciate ourselves and ensure a greener future for our children.
”As such, we should vote for APC candidates at all levels in order to enable the realisation of our desires,“ she urged. (NAN)
