The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ebonyi has deeply frowned at the fatal attack on its Governorship Candidate, Prof. Bernard Odoh.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that Odoh was attacked on Thursday evening at Rest House, Okpoto, Ishielu Local Government Area of the state.

The attackers killed his driver and left two members of the party with various degrees of injuries.

The party also stated that five of its chieftains were still missing.

In a statement issued in Abakaliki by the Publicity Secretary, Mr Chibuike Nwanchor, and made available to newsmen on Friday, the party expressed dismay over the development.

Nwanchor described the attack as “unwarranted” and “highly condemnable”.
He also described it as “wickedness to mankind”
The party called on the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba
to carry out thorough investigation into the incident in order to arrest and bring the suspects to justice.

Speaking on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Chris Anyanwu, told NAN that the command had yet to get the full details of the attack.

NAN recalls that this is the second major attempt on the life of the APGA governorship hopeful. (NAN)
