On Saturday, armed robbery suspects entered the Eleshin neighborhood and freely roamed the Olomo community in Apete, Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The suspects, who allegedly stormed the area at around one in the morning, were armed with a Point of Sale device, which they allegedly used to steal money from their victims’ bank accounts.

PUNCH Metro discovered that the incident had sparked widespread panic as locals are now fleeing in palpable fear.

The armed robbers arrived in the area around midnight or one in the morning, according to a resident who asked that his name not be published for security reasons. They had complete freedom. They arrived with a POS device and made an unspecified amount of money transfers from one of their victims’ accounts. Additionally, they moved an undisclosed sum of money out of his wife’s account before leaving.

Additionally, they left with an iPhone 11 Pro Max and an iPhone XS Max.

According to reports, the incident was reported to the Apete Divisional Police Headquarters.

Adewale Osifeso, the state police public relations officer, was unavailable for comment as of Sunday press time.
