Arsenal fans celebrated the exit of Black Stars of Ghana at the ongoing AFCON as the Gunners are set to be boosted by Thomas Partey’s early return.

Partey played in all three of Ghana’s group matches as they were eliminated from the tournament following the shock 3-2 loss to debutant Comoros.

The 28-year-old is now set to travel back to England and could play a part in the Gunners’ home match against Burnley.

That could mean Partey would not have missed a single Premier League game, with Arsenal’s fixture against Tottenham last Sunday postponed.

He has been in excellent form for Arsenal in the last few weeks – putting in a Man of the Match display against Manchester City earlier this month.

So naturally, many Gooners are delighted by his imminent return.

One wrote on Twitter: “It’s quite something, how you can fly to another continent for a tournament, come back, and not miss one league game! Up Ghana!”

Another added: “Thomas Partey being knocked out of the AFCON and going back to The Arsenal is lovely news, let’s play some games now.”

A third said: “Arsenal better have a private jet to London ready for Thomas Partey asap!” (Completesports)
