Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has charged residents of states in the North-East, especially Gombe, to rise against insecurity and poverty.

Atiku urged them to forge a common front to change the current ugly socio-political situation in the region.

This is just as he hailed a group promising to buy a presidential nomination form for him.

On Monday, Atiku said these in an address during the inauguration of Northeast Business Communities for Atiku 2023 in Gombe.

The former VP said, “My hope and prayers are that just as we have come together and gathered here, we will continue to be together and work for the success of our movement and to change the ugly situation of Nigeria and Nigerians.

“I have received your calls seeking me to contest for president again; I appreciate you all and your offer to buy the nomination form for me at whatever price it is pegged. I pray that our success would mean the best and good for Nigeria and Nigerians in general.”

Earlier, the group chairman, Adamu Bappayo, said, “We are not doing this for Atiku but our region and our country, and we are ready to pursue this cause to success.”
